Annotation: This course offers a comprehensive look at Napoleon and his times, mixing facts with legends, where every detail contributes to an understanding of one of the most important epochs in European history. Join us and discover how a historical figure became a myth that has influenced the modern world! This course takes you into the fascinating era of the Napoleonic Wars, when power, love and legend collided. We will delve into the personal and political-military world of Napoleon Bonaparte - from his rise, to his famous victories and dramatic downfalls, to the creation of myths that persist to this day.

What to expect:

Military and political career: We will explore how Napoleon's campaigns and tactics changed the face of Europe and significantly influenced the history of the continent.

Personal stories and legends: we won't just focus on the battles - we'll also look at the intimate aspects of his life, including the love affairs, controversial relationships and family intrigues that gave his personality a unique dimension.

History and Myth in Contrast: We discuss how historical fact turned into legend and why the 19th century is often referred to as the century of Napoleon.

An impact on everyday life: We will also look at the lives of ordinary soldiers - their conscription, barracks life, medical care, the military kitchen, as well as the small joys and hardships (women and pets X fear of death in battle) that shaped the daily realities of the battlefield.
