Annotation: Genealogy or genealogy belongs to the so-called auxiliary historical sciences. It examines the relationships between human individuals resulting from their common ancestry. It is concerned either with the study of individual personalities or with tracing the changes in particular kinds of relationships. The Genealogy course teaches the participant the basic procedures of genealogical research - locating and archiving family documents (photographs, birth, marriage and death certificates, parcels, journeyman's books, etc.). It also teaches how to interview survivors, search for records in registers not yet digitized and then in registers stored in archives and available online. Participants learn how to analyze the information found, examine possible contradictions and negative evidence, and work with Ages genealogy software. Emphasis is placed on the systematic deposition of references to sources. During the first two semesters of the course, they will also gain information about important non-mathematical sources such as school reports, census records and cadastres, especially the so-called Stable Cadastre. The course offers an inspiring environment for other enthusiastic genealogists to explore family history and motivates participants to continue their independent study and self-education. The course will be open with a minimum of 20 people.
