Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

Lecturer's medallion: Mgr. Martina Winklerová, Ph.D., graduated in English Language and Physical Education at the University of Hradec Kralove and from a postgraduate program in Kinanthropology at Masaryk University in Brno. Currently, she holds the position of assistant professor and is a supervisor of the English language course at the Department of Economic Studies at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava. She is also a lecturer in sports activities such as swimming, spinning, yoga and pilates. In addition, she is also involved in nutritional counselling, where she uses her knowledge and experience to promote a healthy lifestyle in adults, children and athletes.

Annotation: The "Health Promotion and Disease Prevention" course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of key aspects of a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention. The course will focus on the following areas:

Body Building: Basic anatomy and physiology of the human body, understanding its functions and importance to overall health.

Food and the Consumer: information on the nutritional value of food, how to read labels and how to navigate the food choices on the market.

Healthy Eating Principles: Practical advice and recommendations for a balanced diet that promotes health and disease prevention.

Psychohygiene through Movement: the importance of movement for mental health, techniques and exercises to improve mental wellbeing.

Practical Exercise Lessons: Lessons focusing on a variety of physical activities that promote physical fitness and overall health.

First Aid: Basic skills and knowledge needed to provide first aid in a variety of situations.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to actively look after their health and prevent illness through an informed and healthy lifestyle.

Extraordinary guest: MUDr. Martin Winkler – an internist, nephrologist, head doctor of the internal ICU in the Jihlava hospital.

Learning Time: 4:00pm–5:30pm pm

End of the course: common theory test
